Tills stolen after van reversed into Tesco Express, Littlehampton


SEVEN people have been arrested after men reversed a van into the shutters of a shop before robbing it.

Sussex Police attended the incident at a Tesco Express store in Finisterre Way, Littlehampton at around 1.45am yesterday, Wednesday 22.

Three men were seen on CCTV reversing a van into the back shutters to force entry into the shop.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “They were then seen stealing the tills by the cigarette counter and left the store.

“There may be an increased police presence while officers continue their investigation.

“Seven people have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in custody at this time.”

Pictures taken show the aftermath of the incident as staff attempt to clear the scene.
