First hot stretch of summer coming to Metro Vancouver

This morning, the national weather forecaster warned of much warmer weather coming to the Lower Mainland and Sea to Sky region.

The hot stretch will run from Friday (June 24) through Tuesday (June 28) with daytime highs reaching the low 30s.

Overnight lows will fall to the mid-teens, according to the alert.

“Although heat is expected, water bodies still remain cool for this time of year and may pose a risk of hypothermia when exposed to cold water for a prolonged period of time,” Environment Canada stated.
